Purchaser agrees to the following conditions of sale:

Under no circumstances will this kitten/cat be sold, leased, or given to any pet shop, research laboratory, animal shelter or similar facility.

Adequate indoor sanitary facilities will be provided and this cat will not be allowed to roam outdoors. Only an enclosed, covered run will be used for outings unless the cat is with owner in a carrier, on a leash or in the owners hands, only.

Breeder guarantees that the kitten/cat is in excellent health at the time of purchase, is free of parasites, and comes from a FeLV negative cattery. In order to qualify for this guarantee, the kitten must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours after delivery (except Sundays and holidays). If the vet feels that the animal is ill and that the illness was present prior to sale, the Breeder should be contacted at once, before any major treatment is begun (except in an emergency situation). If the kitten/cat should die from a problem present prior to sale, the Breeder will either replace the animal with one of equal quality, or refund the purchase price plus cost of shipping. The total liability of the Breeder shall in no case exceed the total price listed on the first page of this contract. We guarantee this kitten/cat to be FeLV-negative at time of sale.

If this cat is found to be neglected or in ill heath for an unreasonable length of time, Purchaser will surrender said cat to Breeder unconditionally. The Breeder's judgement of neglect or health will be final.

If purchased as a pet or show alter, Purchaser agrees to neuter or spay this cat no later than the age of eight months.

If purchased as a pet or show alter, Breeder agrees to provide pedigree at time of purchase, but will give Purchaser registration papers only upon presentation of a veterinarian's certificate of neutering or spaying.

The Purchaser agrees to maintain continued contact with the Breeder for purposes of conveying information about the health and welfare of the kitten/cat.

The Purchaser agrees to inform the Breeder of any awards, placements, or titles earned by the kitten/cat in sanctioned competition.

Purchaser agrees to contact the Breeder if he or she is unable to keep this cat, and return said cat at the earliest opportunity. This cat may not be placed in another home without the consent of the Breeder. Breeder will either agree to keep said cat as part of his/her cattery, or assist the Purchaser in placing the cat in an alternate home. Under no circumstances will Purchaser dispose of this cat except in the manner stated above or Purchaser will be deemed to be in violation of this contract. Any attempt to sell, give away or otherwise dispose of this cat without prior approval of Breeder, as stated previously, will result in Breeder taking immediate steps to revoke such action, and to secure permanent possession of said cat.

Any cat or kitten sold for breeding must remain in cattery of Purchaser. It may not be sent to any other cattery or resold to another cattery for the purpose of breeding (exceptions are females sent out for stud service). Placement in another home must be preceded by obtaining approval of Breeder and altering the cat prior to placement at Purchaser's expense. Breeder will not knowingly sell a kitten/cat for Breeding or Showing with a known defect. However, should a defect in the kitten/cat arise after leaving Breeder's home which would preclude said kitten/cat from being used as a Show or Breeder cat, Breeder agrees to refund Purchaser, the difference between purchase price and pet price provided that Purchaser shows proof of said defect by written letter from Purchaser's veterinarian. No kitten/cat from this cattery may be bred to other than a registered Maine Coon Cat.

If Purchaser finds it necessary to return a cat to the Breeder, refunds will be made as follows: 100% of purchase price within the first week, 75% within the first month, 50% within the first 60 days. Breeder will not pay for transportation costs incurred by Purchaser. Purchaser will provide at his/her expense a health certificate and fresh FeLV test result prior to returning the cat. Breeder has right to refuse to allow the return of a sick or infectious cat until cat is well. Any cat or kitten taken back as a result of negligence or improper care will not be subject to the above stated refund policy.

Additionally, Purchaser agrees to keep this cat or kitten clean, healthy, free of parasites, free from harassment and undue stress, in a sanitary environment of sufficient room and space, and in a safe and secure area. Purchaser must provide at least annual examinations and booster shots, as well as ongoing veterinary care. Cat must be kept in a homelike environment and not subject to unnecessary confinement.

Purchaser agrees to pay Breeder a non-refundable deposit of half the purchase price at the time of signing of this contract: the balance of purchase price to be paid in cash or cashier's check in U.S. currency at the time kitten is picked up. Purchaser agrees to pay in advance of pickup any additional vaccinations, tests or health certificates, as well as all shipping costs incurred by Breeder which Purchaser requests as a condition of sale.

I UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY COST INCURRED BY THE BREEDER IN ENFORCING THIS CONTRACT SHOULD I DEFAULT ON ANY OF THE CONTRACTS TERMS, CONDITIONS, AGREEMENTS, AND/OR UNDERSTANDINGS.
