News
  • June 2003: Wow. I guess the saying about the shoemaker's kids going without shoes is true! I've been so busy on other websites, ours has been ignored. We have two girls who are just coming of breeding age now and a long waiting list for kittens.
  • August 2001: Finally some good news! We welcome into our home a beautiful, happy and charming Lunarcoons Moonlight of Denalicoons!
  • August 2001: Our sweet "pink thing", Tasha crossed over the Rainbow Bridge due to a brain tumor. She was Toklat's playmate and pal.
  • April 2001: We unexpectedly lost our foundation male, Toklat, on April 12th. The vets said the closest analogy was to walking pneumonia in humans; his lungs and liver were involved. His heart was normal. We will miss him greatly. Currently this leaves us without a male cleared for breeding. We will have to make arrangements to send our girls out of state for breeding.
  • March 2001: Breeding plans for Tundra are on hold until we get a better reading on her heart. A cardiologist is scheduled to visit Alaska in July.
  • January 2001: NorthStar's heart exam was normal! Unfortunately she thinks Toklat is a mean monster and he's too much of a gentleman to push the relationship.
  • December 2000: We do not expect kittens for a while. We are re-evaluating some of our breeding plans for cat health reasons. Tundra is recuperating from major surgery and doing well. In trying to have a routine exam of her heart done, a common birth defect was found. Much of her liver was up in the heart cavitity and crowding the heart. So she had surgery mid-month.
  • June 3, 2000: Kobi delivered right on schedule on May 31. Unfortunately, there were no live kittens. The good news is that Kobi is doing fine and there was no c-section needed. We will most likely breed NorthStar next in about a month.
  • March 27, 2000: Kobi (Denalicoons Kobuk) has decided she likes her date! If this breeding takes she should have kittens at the end of May/start of June. Kittens from this litter would be able to go to their new homes about Labor Day weekend.
  • March 19, 2000 : Denalicoons Kobuk is currently visiting with Capecoons Cowboy of Luvpaws. Once her date is over, we hope to have a litter of kittens!
  • 1999: It was a difficult year on a personal level with family issues that delayed work with our cats. In addition, testing on our breeding cats was not entirely as we had hoped. We made several changes in the breeding program. Most notiably Wickersham is currently out of the breeding program but is still a loving and active boy!
